MJU Drone Services was founded by Mike Upson, an experienced aviation professional, instructor and commercial drone operator with a career built around aviation training, technical knowledge and professional standards.

Mike is an experienced ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge instructor and has held senior responsibility for the delivery and oversight of professional pilot ground training. His aviation background brings something different to MJU: an understanding that operating an aircraft professionally is about much more than simply knowing how to control it.
It requires technical knowledge, sound judgement, effective risk management, situational awareness and a professional approach to every operation.
These same principles underpin MJU Drone Services.

The rapid development of the UAS industry is bringing remotely piloted aircraft progressively closer to the wider aviation environment.
MJU was established to bring established aviation standards into this developing sector, both through professional drone operations and through the training of the next generation of Remote Pilots.
As the UK moves towards the new Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Remote Pilot Certificate pathway, MJU is developing training designed around that progression.
The objective is simple:
To develop Remote Pilots who don't just pass an assessment, but understand how to operate as aviation professionals.
The MJU Standard
Whether delivering a commercial drone operation or training a Remote Pilot, the principles remain the same:
Safety. Knowledge. Professionalism. Airmanship.
It requires technical knowledge, sound judgement, effective risk management, situational awareness and a professional approach to every operation.
These same principles underpin MJU Drone Services.
